September 4, 2011
Brethren:
We often wonder, each month, when we are about to start writing the newsletter, just what will we write about this month? Well, I know of no better subject than Texas weather! Ah, how good it is to walk outdoors and feel at least a little breeze and temperatures that are below the triple digits. Hopefully, the weather will stay at or below the 90’s for the next few days and you will feel good enough to make a trip down to the Lodge building and grab a bite of our good breakfast and fellowship with your brothers of the Fraternal- order of Masonry. We would like for you to at least drop by and meet your new officers.
Our Junior Warden, Brother Danny Skinner is doing well after surgery for Colon Cancer. He is home after a week and seems to be doing remarkably well for what he has gone through. Give him a call and let him know that you care.
We want to remind each of you of our new web site, please go by and take a look at it:
www.jamesvcallandaylight.org. Our internet- team has done a great job on putting this together. We also want to remind everyone that we will be dark in October 2011 for the Stated Meeting due to the Grand Lodge’s Texas Masonic Family Day event which falls on our Stated Meeting date of October 8, 2011. Don’t forget so that you may attend the event at Texas Masonic Retirement Center, 1501 West Division, Arlington, TX. The event will start at 9:00A.M. and close at 4:00P.M. Bring your Family and friends for a great time and the admission is free, parking is free, and the fun is free. There are several things for you to be involved in such as: a Classic Car and Motor cycle show; live music, food and drinks at a reasonable price; jump houses for the children; petting zoo. Pumpkin Patch, dunking booth, and over 100 vender tents.
We will remind everyone again next month in the October Newsletter.

Note from your Worshipful Master
Hello, Brethren of James V. Callan #1422! We have many good things happening at our lodge right now and I encourage everyone to join the activity and fun taking place. Are you ready for the following update as to what has taken place after the FIRST stated meeting this year?
Committees have been formed to review our lodge finances and chart a course to remain prosperous. Others are working on selecting a deserving “Community Builder” and Lamar Medal recipient. The audit committee has met and will report at the stated meeting. We have two Entered Apprentices learning their esoteric work and we will soon be putting on Fellowcraft degrees. The TMRC Family Day and Barbecue is taking place in October.
Is this enough for you yet? No? Okay, our lodge and officers will be working diligently to get us qualified for the Vanguard Award again. A chili cook-off is in the works. There is a “Travelling Gavel” out there that belongs back at James V. Callan . I think this is it for now but look for further updates in our upcoming newsletters.
Worshipful Master
Michael Lingenfelder
